A good public speaking class should teach a strategy on how to speak in a style that sounds interesting with good inflection and vocal variety with the right amount of speed. Body language is an important component because the number one question asked is, “What do I do with my hands”? Overcoming nervousness should be addressed with a variety of useful strategies. Most importantly how to use visual aids effectively which if done right, can turn you into an amazing storyteller which your audience will appreciate. A good public speaking class will often include practice in giving speeches so you can experience hands-on coaching as well as how to develop persuasive and informative speaking skills. Most importantly, the training should be fun and every participant should feel safe to take risks in that teaching environment.

Will a public speaking class make a difference in my ability to speak confidently?

Absolutely, yes! A good public speaking class will provide structured training and personal coaching to help you to build confidence, improve your delivery, and manage nervousness. With regular feedback and tailored techniques, you’ll learn how to present more clearly, engage your audience, and feel more at ease in front of any crowd. How can I reduce my accent?

The first step in successfully reducing your accent is to speak English in the American cultural style and not from the style or the rules of your first language. To speak English with cultural correctness is to speak with American intonation. The rhythm and melody style of a language is known as intonation. Every language and cultural group have their own style of intonation. It is not possible to reduce a foreign accent and learn missing sounds without speaking with American intonation and the new habits that go with this skill, first.

Do accent reduction classes change English enough to notice a difference?

Yes, accent reduction classes are designed to successfully reduce an accent. The good news is, reducing an accent is not as hard as learning a new language. Accents are not removed and there will always be some identifiable cultural distinctions remaining however, English can be spoken clearly and with more confidence. It is very possible to learn how to speak English with the American rules and discontinue the rules of your primary language. It is possible to improve mispronounced sounds and learn new consonant sounds. The goal is for English to sound clear and culturally correct. With practice, understanding accented habits and willing to apply new habits, an accent reduction class may be a good investment and there should be noticeable improvement with your English pronunciation within a few weeks.

What is media training, and how can it help me?

Media training prepares individuals to effectively handle interviews, press conferences, podcasts and other media interactions such as the ever-powerful social media market. A good media training will teach you how to communicate your message clearly, stay calm under pressure, and build rapport with your audience. With a comprehensive media training, you will learn how to present yourself confidently and handle challenging questions. In fact, it is our goal for you to look forward to your media opportunities and enjoy yourself while in the moment.
